There are SMS providers like:
www.aql.com
www.bulksms.com
They all talk about having quality messaging routes and the like as well as supporting hundreds of global networks. Who is it that these services are interfacing with? Do they have direct relationships with companies like T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc.? How much does such a relationships cost? It seems to me if you know you're going to be sending a lot of messages to say AT&T users, you'd want to cut out SMS providers and deal with AT&T directly?
If anyone could explain this situation to me, I'd appreciate it! |

Hello,
Most probably they have some SS7 SMSC connections to different providers. These connections are very expensive and thus only interesting if you are going to send lots of messages.
