I am not a programmer, but I am responsible for figuring out how my website can send text notifications of upcoming events. I believe I need an SMS gateway and I've called a few companies. For the most part, they are all giving me different information. And the pricing seems to vary so much. Is there someone out there that can give me a quick 'non-techinical' explanation of what I need to do. I am willing to pay for your time.

I know that there is a plugin called SMS Text Message that was designed for wordpress just in case your website utilizes this blog format.
